Pine City Elementary School
Family, School, Community: Together We Succeed
🐾💛 A Golden Paw Celebration at Pine City School!
We’re sharing a few pictures from Friday’s Golden Paw Walk! 🐻
A classroom becomes a Golden Paw Class when every student earns a paw for making good choices. Once every classroom at Pine City School earns this recognition, it’s time to celebrate with a schoolwide walk!
We started this special tradition last year, and Friday, our Pine Bears did it again! Students and staff came together for a celebratory walk around the building, with plenty of excitement and encouragement from one another — and, of course, Pine Bear! 🐻
Seeing the happiness and pride on the faces of our students and staff was truly something special. We are so proud of our Pine Bears for making good choices and earning their paws! 🐾💚💛

❤️🚂 It’s Homecoming Week, Elmira alumni! Let’s celebrate YOUR stories!

🦷 DID YOU KNOW? Your child can get dental care at school in Elmira!
Through our partnership with Mosaic Community Dentistry, ECSD students can receive important dental services right at school during the school day — including screenings, dental exams, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants and more.
That means fewer appointments to schedule, less time away from work for families, and less time away from learning for students. ❤️
As a Community School District, we believe supporting the whole child means making health and wellness services more accessible to our students and families — right where our kids already are.
Because when we remove barriers to care, students are healthier, families have one less thing to juggle, and kids can stay focused on being kids and learning.

🫶🏾🧡SAVE THE DATE: UNITY DAY 2026!🧡🫶🏻
On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Elmira City School District will come together to celebrate Unity Day!
Students, families, and staff are encouraged to wear orange as we stand together for kindness, acceptance, inclusion, and a school community where everyone belongs.
When an entire community comes together, even one simple color can send a powerful message: You belong. You matter. You are not alone. Together, we can create schools where every child feels safe, supported, and included.

📚🎨 Learning, creating and practicing positive behaviors at Pine City Elementary!
Our first graders are learning with the beloved book "No, David!" as they explore behaviors that are appropriate in the classroom.
After reading, students are putting their own art skills and fine motor skills to work by drawing examples of these behaviors — turning an important lesson into a fun, hands-on learning experience! ✏️🖍️
These conversations help our youngest learners understand classroom expectations, make positive choices and build the skills they need to learn and grow together.
This is part of the Treatment Agreements that support a positive, respectful and consistent learning environment across our classrooms.
Way to go, Pine City first graders!
